The Naval Medical Logistics Command is awarding a Firm Fixed Price contract to Parata Systems Inc for pharmacy support and system upgrades across several Navy medical facilities, including NHC Quantico, BHC Parris Island, NH Camp Pendleton, BHC Yuma, NH Camp Lejeune, NHC Annapolis, and NH Beaufort. The scope of work involves providing the hardware and software necessary to enable existing pharmacy automation equipment to operate on Microsoft Windows 7. Additionally, the contract covers the de-installation, transfer, and reinstallation of equipment from NH Camp Pendleton to NHC Annapolis and NH Pensacola, including all required licenses for full functionality. This procurement is being conducted as a non-competitive action because Parata Systems Inc is the original equipment manufacturer and the only source capable of providing the proprietary updates required to maintain system functionality and DIACAP accreditation on the Navy network. Using any other vendor would risk the loss of certification and potentially compromise patient safety. Funding for these upgrades is provided through FY13 Operations and Maintenance funds, and the contracting officer will ensure pricing is fair and reasonable through a price analysis and commercial discount review.
