The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Michigan Tech University for the Procurement of Pilot Testing of Ergonomic Devices in Patient Handling Tasks. The vendor has a well-equipped testing facility that meets all the requirements for conducting the experiments. This also includes access to a nursing program capable of supplying a sufficient number of nursing assistants or students to serve as test subjects. They have solid background and education in biomechanics and ergonomics, especially evaluating effects of ergonomic interventions using biomechanical assessments.
