BD Pyxis Med-stations and ES system have been in use at the Birmingham VA Medical Center and it’s outlying Community Based Outpatient Clinics for several years. The addition of Pyxis Check and the MLM will increase the proficiency of the department while decreasing errors. The BD Pyxis ES dispensing system provides medications as needed for Veterans in an expeditious manner and this is a priority for pharmacy. The purpose of this project is to install and configure Pyxis Check software along with the Medication Label Module (MLM) and Scanner Kit at the Birmingham VA Health Care System’s main campus.
