The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source contract to Tecan U.S., Inc. for the preventative and remedial maintenance of four Tecan multipipettor liquid handling instruments. These instruments are essential for critical toxicology analyses of human samples, and the contract ensures compliance with CLIA regulations and CDC policies. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811219 and is justified by the fact that Tecan U.S., as the original manufacturer, is the only source capable of providing factory-trained engineers, certified technical staff, and warrantied repair parts for the EVO model systems. The contract structure consists of a twelve-month base year followed by four twelve-month option years. Because Tecan U.S. is identified as the only responsible source capable of meeting the government's requirements, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. The government will issue a single solicitation to Tecan U.S., Inc., although the agency allowed for the submission of capabilities statements from other potential sources prior to the final determination.
