Full Description

The MARCORSYSCOM intends to issue an award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to L3 Com Electro-Optical Systems (EOS) Garland, TX, for two (2) High Resolution Cameras (Specifications: CMOS Imager to 18mm I2, 3648x3375 (12MP) CMOS FPA2, 3200x2400 (7.7MP) I2CMOS, Size (3.11x2.86x2.84), Weight (1.0 lbs not optimized, low power operation 1.25W on sensor FPA, 6.5W full frame +DVI+CL Ops), Advanced Video Processing (variable resolution/scaling, NUC, close loop AGC, contrast enhancement, image fusion A+B 7.7 MP) Video Output (camera link medium, high speed DVI). This action will be procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and awarded under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. L3 Com Electro-Optical Systems (EOS) is the only known source capable of meeting the Government's requirement. This is a one time purchase. The intended use of this equipment is to be used in the initial characterization and fusing with other short and long wave cameras to explore the benefits of fused electro-optic devices. RFQ # M67854-08-Q-1104, NAICS 333314. The size standard for the NAICS Code is 500 employees. This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ). Interested parties may submit information for consideration in writing to Charles Dunaway at contact@example.gov no later than 7 July 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with an anticipated award date of 22 July 08. Submitted information will be evaluated solely on the basis of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
