The Naval Medical Logistics Command, an agency within the Department of Defense, intends to award a sole-source, Firm Fixed Price contract to the American Medical Association for Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code licenses. This requirement, identified by solicitation number N6264515RCES060 and NAICS code 519130, is necessary to provide licenses for 1,080 users on Anesthesia Recording and Monitoring Devices to ensure critical medical record compatibility. The American Medical Association is designated as the only responsible source because it is the sole owner and distributor of these codes. The contract is structured with a base period and four option years, beginning on September 30, 2015. While the government identified the American Medical Association as the only technically acceptable provider, the notice allowed interested parties to submit technical data and cost information to challenge the sole-source determination. The procurement process was managed by the Naval Medical Logistics Command office located in Fort Detrick, Maryland, with Kasey L. Carroll and Shannon Hess serving as the primary points of contact.
