The document announces the final version of the Commodity Requirements Document (CRD) for wheat flour and bread flour, designated WFBF7, which will take effect on July 25, 2012. This updated specification, issued by the Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO) of the USDA Farm Service Agency, outlines new product requirements for flour used in U.S. Government international food aid programs. Key changes include the establishment of a maximum ash content, revisions to the premix formulation and testing protocols, and the removal of the previous discount table related to ash content. These changes, highlighted in bold in the CRD, are intended to clarify and improve the quality standards for flour procured under these programs. The notice advises all interested parties, including potential suppliers, to review the entire WFBF7 document to ensure compliance with the updated commodity requirements that will apply to all solicitations for flour issued on or after the effective date. The final CRD and other current commodity requirements are accessible on the USDA’s Commodity Operations website. Each solicitation will specify the applicable CRD in line with federal acquisition regulations. Points of contact for further information are the contract specialist Dean Danekas and branch chief Todd Shuck at KCCO.
