This project will replace approximately 3,500 linear feet of failing cast iron domestic water service line. Various sections of the water line were originally installed in 1942 and 1970. This line experiences an average of (3) breaks per year repaired by PWD shops. This project will also replace (5) domestic hydrants and (12) water system valves along this water line. The design will be completed by PWD Norfolk. Due to the proximity to the groundwater remediation facility this project will require an EV checklist. Continued frequency of water breaks impacts water service and redundant fire protection in the Camp Allen area.
