AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Department of Defense, through DLA Aviation in Richmond, Virginia, is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of manufacturing the AXLE ASSEMBLY with part number 96250-32107-041 and NSN 1615-015026255, estimated at 51 units. This effort falls under NAICS code 336411 and is aimed at determining the optimal procurement path—potentially as a small business set-aside or through full and open competition—with the possibility of multiple awards. Interested parties must demonstrate the ability to fully manufacture the axle assembly from component-level production through inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping, while also managing the supply chain, addressing diminishing manufacturing sources, and handling long-lead material procurement. The requirement includes the capacity to comply with strict program schedules, control costs, retain key personnel, and execute performance-based service acquisition practices. Responses are voluntary and will not result in financial reimbursement for submission costs. Organizations must submit their capability statements, including organizational details, ownership structure, website, contact information, and supporting documentation of technical, financial, and management capacity, along with any planned subcontracting or teaming arrangements. Only submissions received by May 4, 2026, via email to Samuel Kogi at Samuel.kogi@dla.mil will be accepted, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided. Although two approved sources currently exist, the government is seeking new capable vendors to ensure competitive viability. Additional guidance for submitting Source Approval Requests is available through DoDSafe by contacting dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil with the required CAGE code, NSN, and email address.
