AI Contract Overview
The contract seeks sources capable of manufacturing the fluid filter element identified by NSN 4330-01-014-1896, part number 337-549-9001. Currently, only three approved manufacturers—Rolls-Royce Corporation, Honeywell International Inc., and Boeing Distribution Services X, Inc.—are authorized to supply this item. This part is designated under acquisition management codes "1C," indicating it is suitable for competitive acquisition but requires engineering source approval to ensure quality standards due to the unique design and proprietary technical data held by the approved sources. Any alternate manufacturer must undergo a rigorous qualification process overseen by the design control activity and the relevant government engineering authority. Interested companies are invited to submit information on their capability to produce this filter element by the response deadline of May 14, 2026. Firms seeking to become approved sources must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating they can match or exceed the quality of the current Original Equipment Manufacturer. All submissions and inquiries should be directed to the contract specialist, David Hartrum, at DLA Land and Maritime in Columbus, Ohio. Detailed guidance on the SAR process is available via the DLA Weapons Support website to assist potential suppliers in preparing their applications.
