Contract Overview
Solicitation details, issuing organization, response deadlines, documents, and interested companies for this government contract opportunity.
AI Contract Overview
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a non-competitive contract for the procurement of the nVision Behavior Acquisition System, designated for use by the Holmes Laboratory at the Fishers Lane Animal Center. This system will enable synchronized behavioral video acquisition during calcium imaging experiments, which is vital for correlating neural activity with behavioral outcomes in ongoing neuroscience research focused on cognitive and emotional regulation using freely behaving rodents. The award is planned without full and open competition, with Bruker Nano, Inc. as the intended contractor, operating under NAICS code 334516 and governed by simplified acquisition procedures consistent with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. The solicitation, posted on June 11, 2026, calls for responses by June 22, 2026, and although it is not a request for competitive proposals, the NIH invites interested parties to submit capability statements and supporting documentation to demonstrate their qualifications. Responses must include a technical and cost proposal, period of performance, unique entity identifier, taxpayer ID, and business size certification, with all offerors required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Submissions are to be sent electronically to the NIH contracting officer by the stated deadline. The contract value is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold of $350,000, and the decision to proceed non-competitively will be at the government's discretion based on the responses received.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- Title: nVision Behavior Acquisition System
- Background Information: The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), requires the purchase of an nVision for Synchronized Behavior Recordings System for use by the Holmes Laboratory at the Fishers Lane Animal Center. The laboratory conducts neuroscience research focused on understanding the neural basis of cognitive and emotional regulation through calcium imaging experiments in freely behaving rodents. Current studies utilize the nVue Imaging System and nVoke 2.0 Integrated Imaging and Optogenetics System to record neural activity in behaving mice. The requested nVision system will provide synchronized behavioral video acquisition during calcium imaging experiments, allowing simultaneous recording of animal behavior and neural activity. This capability is essential for correlating neural circuit dynamics with behavioral outcomes in ongoing research studies..
