This task order supports Executive Order 14225, Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production, by conducting Northern Spotted Owl (NSO) clearance surveys in proposed and active timber harvest areas to support timber sales and forest management activities on BLM lands in Northwest Oregon while ensuring compliance with the Biological Opinion and the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Conducted across the Cascades, Marys Peak, Siuslaw, Tillamook, and Upper Willamette Field Offices of the Northwest Oregon District, the project includes daytime habitat and detection surveys at historic NSO sites, as well as day and night station-calling surveys along established roads and trails. By consolidating survey efforts under a single contract, the project increases efficiency, provides critical data for ESA compliance, and supports the timely implementation of timber production activities.
