Nye-Holman State Forest Compartment 4 Invasives Project

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is seeking bids for the removal of invasive plant species over 61 acres within Compartment 4 of Nye-Holman State Forest in Tolland, Connecticut. The area is accessible via Patten Road (State Forest Road) and the Nye-Holman Archery Range Trail parking lot, both reached from S River Road. The project requires the contractor to navigate the forest on foot or with a utility terrain vehicle to selectively apply herbicide to the targeted invasive plants. The initial treatment is scheduled to take place during the summer and fall of 2026, followed by a secondary treatment in spring and summer of 2027 to ensure effectiveness.
