Oakview Wood Pedestrian Bridge (P1) Replacement

The Town of Wasaga Beach is soliciting tenders for the reconstruction of the Oakview Wood Pedestrian Bridge (P1) under contract PW2026-18. The scope of work involves the removal and disposal of the existing bridge superstructure, modifications to concrete abutments and structure backfill, the installation of prefabricated superstructure components, construction of trails on bridge approaches, and comprehensive site restoration including topsoil and seeding along creek banks. All work must adhere to Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS.MUNI), the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and CAN/CSA-S6-25 standards. The project must be substantially performed by November 27, 2026. Bids must be submitted electronically by October 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. local time. Qualified contractors are required to provide a bid bond of 10,000 dollars, along with agreements to provide performance and labour and material bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract value. Evaluation is based on the best interest of the owner, with mandatory requirements including a satisfactory safety record and proof of ability to execute the work. Key deliverables include a detailed Gantt chart construction schedule submitted within seven days of the award, a removal plan submitted two weeks prior to superstructure removal, and a quality control plan for concrete work. Payment is contingent upon the submission of a WSIB Certificate of Clearance and a Statutory Declaration regarding the payment of accounts.
