Instrument must be new (refurbished units will not be acceptable) Olympus SZ61 Zoom Stereo Microscope – (MUST BE OLYMPUS SZ61, ALTERNATES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE) Body only. No stand, lighting, or camera mount.
45° binocular head. 0.67x – 4.5x zoom. Two 10x eyepieces included. See attached for picture of unit

The stereo microscopes (stereoscope) will be used to examine mosquito and tick specimens up close in order to identify them to species. This is necessary in order to 1) identify disease vector species for further testing and 2) provide species information to local partners so they are able to more effectively target control measures.
