The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 19 intends to sole source the acquisition of an Ekso Indego Gait Training Device for the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. This specialized equipment is required for neurological gait training for inpatient and outpatient populations, including individuals with multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. The procurement is justified under FAR 12.102(a) because Ekso Bionics is identified as the only manufacturer capable of providing the device, which is uniquely qualified to support weights up to 250 pounds and offers a compact design for storage. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 339113 with a size standard of 800 employees. While the government intends to negotiate specifically with Ekso Bionics, other businesses capable of providing the device may submit written evidence of their ability to comply to the contract specialist by September 11, 2026. The final decision to compete the acquisition remains at the sole discretion of the government.
