Facilities include government and administration offices, courthouses, jails, county sheriff, sensitive high- risk locations, wastewater treatment plants, parks, security operations centers, radio towers, pump houses, ferries and airports, and other departments/buildings/locations throughout Pierce County in both leased and owned facilities. Each of these facilities require upkeep, improvements, and modifications and the need to estimate the costs for the planning, design, and construction of these projects for submission into budgets, decision making, and long-term planning. The type and precision of an estimate will vary depending on when the project will be executed. The construction, alteration, repair, or improvement, other than ordinary maintenance, executed at the County’s cost, are required to comply with 39.04 RCW and 39.12 RCW for public works and prevailing wage.
