On-Call Pothole Repair Services

The Merced County Department of Public Works Road Division is soliciting proposals for on-call pothole repair services within the unincorporated areas of Merced County. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals, including a truck with at least 5 tons of asphalt hauling capacity and traffic control compliant with the latest California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device guidelines. The County will provide the cold mix asphalt material. Qualified proposers must possess a valid Class California A Contractor's License and be able to initiate services within two weeks of notification. The contract is an Agreement for Special Services based on hourly rates for a two-person crew. The initial term runs through December 31, 2027, with an option for the County to renew for one additional two-year term. Award evaluation is based on company capacity, technical knowledge, and a minimum of two professional references. Contractors must maintain significant insurance coverage, including $1 million per occurrence in Commercial General Liability and statutory Workers Compensation. Proposals are due by 4:00 PM on November 13, 2026, and must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Department of Public Works in Merced, California.
