The City of Bridgeport is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors to establish a pre-approved list of local vendors capable of providing on-call repair and maintenance services across various trades, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and roofing, within city-owned facilities. The bidding process requires submission of one original and two copies by May 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm, with the bids to be publicly opened and read aloud at the Department of Public Purchases. Contractors must demonstrate at least five years of experience in commercial building maintenance, possess a substantial staffing pool, and have the financial capacity to support ongoing work. The City will prioritize vendors based on the lowest reflective pricing, with the lowest-priced vendor being contacted first for each task. If the vendor cannot commence work promptly, the City reserves the right to move to the next ranked contractor. The scope of work generally involves maintenance, repair, replacement, and installation tasks across various City facilities, with travel time not billable. All questions regarding the bid must be submitted by May 17, 2024.
