Optometry Services This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada, Joyceville Institution - Complex, Joyceville, Ontario. Trade agreement: This procurement is not subject to any trade agreement. Policy on Reciprocal Procurement: This solicitation is open only to Canadian suppliers. Tendering procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid. Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest priced compliant bid. Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business: This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Indigenous Suppliers. Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement. Security Requirements: This contract includes security requirements. Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement. The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement for an Optometrist for Joyceville Institution – Complex. Objectives: Provide essential optometry services, on an as and when requested basis, to inmates at Joyceville Institution – Complex as an optometrist, in accordance with CSC’s CD’s, Health Services Policies, and Guidelines. Deliverables: 1. Performing general eye examinations to rule out pathology, or diagnose disorders of the eye; 2. Performing tests of visual acuity; 3. Treating conditions of the eye, by prescribing or administering medication or appropriate eye care; 4. Prescribing corrective lenses to treat visual impairment; 5. Upon receipt of frames, checking the prescription; 6. Fitting and adjusting existing frames; 7. Making appropriate referrals to other health care providers; and 8. Providing advice to prevent visual disorders and promote healthy habits to maintain good vision. Any conditions for participation of suppliers not specified in solicitation documentation: none.
