This three year IDIQ contract with the Umatilla National Forest provides for lookout services at the Oregon Butte Lookout on the Pomeroy Ranger District in Washington. The contractor is responsible for detecting and reporting smokes or fires, monitoring radio traffic, plotting fire locations, and providing weather and fire behavior reports. Services are required seven days a week from 0900 to 1800 hours, typically between July 1 and October 31, consisting of one base year and two option years activated via task orders. The position requires living in a small facility at an elevation of approximately 6000 feet within the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, where the contractor must endure extreme weather and limited access to supplies.
