Oscar Johnson Jr. Enrichment and Recreation Center Crawlspace Mechanical and Plumbing Improvements

The City of Conroe is soliciting proposals under RFP 2026-1029 for mechanical and plumbing improvements at the Oscar Johnson Jr. Enrichment and Recreation Center in Conroe, Texas. The project aims to mitigate groundwater intrusion and elevated humidity within the facility's crawlspace. The scope of work includes the installation of Aprilaire Model E130 dehumidifiers, 3/4-inch Schedule 80 CPVC condensate drain piping, and stainless-steel or aluminum motorized outside-air dampers. Additionally, the contractor must install groundwater sump pumps, sump pits, storm drainage piping, modify existing sanitary piping, and perform cleaning and coating of existing crawlspace insulation, along with all necessary electrical work. The award will be based on the best value for the City, utilizing a points-based scoring method. Mandatory submission requirements include a certificate of insurance, a bid bond or security equal to ten percent of the base offer, and a proposed project schedule.
