The University of Minnesota is soliciting bids for the procurement of fiber optic cables through a Request for Bid (RFB) process, specifically targeting network and telecom services. The solicitation, titled "OSP Fiber Cables For Reroute" with solicitation number 10074.2152837.dk Addendum 3, was posted on April 10, 2024, with a response deadline of May 2, 2024. Suppliers are required to submit their delivered pricing and lead time information using a designated spreadsheet included with the RFB, which also contains specific instructions and part numbers for the required cables. A new pricing grid was introduced in an addendum issued on April 25, 2024, which mandates a cable length of 3,300 feet for the last specification on the sheet. Participants must adhere to strict submission protocols via the MBid platform, including attaching their pricing and lead time data through the Attachments Tab and submitting any clarification questions through the Questions Tab before the deadline. The process emphasizes early submission to allow for error correction, as late or erroneous responses will be rejected and cannot be resubmitted. Communication with the designated department is prohibited during the RFB process to ensure fairness. The procurement is conducted under the university’s structured sourcing procedures, guided by the University of Minnesota’s Supplier Process and Information Guide, which details the mandatory response procedures, deadlines, and compliance requirements for participating suppliers.
