The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to issue a bridge extension to the existing contract with Donjon Marine, Inc., located in Hillside, New Jersey, to continue providing essential salvage and ocean engineering services. This contract extension will cover salvage operations, salvage-related towing, harbor clearance, point-to-point towing, and other ocean engineering support activities required by the Director of Ocean Engineering and Supervisor of Salvage and Diving. The extension is set to begin on June 13, 2011, and will last up to six months or until a follow-on contract is awarded, whichever occurs first. This bridge extension follows the Navy’s ongoing evaluation of proposals submitted under a competitive solicitation issued in early 2010 for future salvage services. The goal is to maintain uninterrupted support during the interim period while the Navy finalizes its award decision for the successor contract. The continued engagement with Donjon Marine ensures critical operational capabilities remain intact, sustaining the Navy’s readiness and logistical support in maritime salvage operations.
