P--Salvage Services in Support of the Director of Ocean Engineering, Supervisor of Salvage and Diving

The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to extend Contract N00024-03-D-4024 with SMIT Singapore, PTE, Ltd. for an additional period of up to three months, starting December 5, 2011. This extension will continue to provide essential salvage services including salvage and salvage-related towing, harbor clearance, point-to-point towing, and ocean engineering support to the Director of Ocean Engineering and the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving. The short-term extension is intended to maintain continuity of services while the Navy evaluates proposals for a successor contract. The evaluation process follows a competitive solicitation (N00024-10-R-4119) which closed on March 9, 2010. The follow-on contract will replace the current agreement once awarded. This bridge extension ensures uninterrupted support for ocean engineering and salvage operations during the transition period, highlighting the Navy’s reliance on these specialized maritime services to fulfill operational requirements.
