Pacific Instruments Hardware Repairs – B2 Test Stand

NASA/NSSC is seeking repairs and recalibration services for Pacific Instruments hardware used at the B2 Test Stand at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, under a sole source acquisition to Pacific Instruments Inc. of Concord, California, the sole manufacturer and provider capable of servicing this proprietary equipment. The scope includes evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, electronic repairs, and recalibration of 40 Model 6068-3006 cards and one Model 6000UB chassis to restore them to a “refurbished - like-new” state, with delivery of a detailed repair report upon completion. The work is governed under FAR Part 12 as a commercial item acquisition, using the established PIRPR-6000 service level at $675 per card, for a total of $27,000, with no formal calibration certificates or detailed data required. Although the chassis unit price is unspecified, the total estimated value remains constrained by the card service rate. The acquisition is not classified as an IT procurement since it involves repair of existing analog operational technology hardware owned by NASA, meaning no new cybersecurity controls or security plan additions apply. NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable to ensure transparency. Responses from other potential offerors may be submitted in writing by 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on August 10, 2026, solely to determine if competitive acquisition is feasible, but no award is anticipated other than to Pacific Instruments.
