Pacific Pipeline Check Valve Project

The Pacific Pipeline Check Valve Project, managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation's Channel Coast District, grants the Pacific Pipeline Company access to Gaviota State Beach in Goleta, California. The primary objective is to perform maintenance and inspection of check valve 325A CHK-11 GC within pipeline Segment CA-325. To eliminate the need for repeated excavations, the project involves excavating an area of approximately 1,152 cubic feet to install a ten-foot diameter corrugated metal pipe and lid, providing a permanent access point for operators. Construction crews will utilize Gaviota State Park Road 28 to reach a temporary workspace measuring approximately 75 feet by 50 feet. The project is classified as a forecast under NAICS code 237120 and is exempt from CEQA under categorical exemptions Classes 1, 4, and 11, as it consists of minor alterations and maintenance without significant environmental impact. Public access will remain unaffected during activities.
