The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, is seeking lease proposals for commercial storefront space between 931 and 1,300 gross rentable square feet located within a one-and-a-quarter-mile radius of 1139 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida. The space must include dedicated parking for approximately three government vehicles available both during business hours and overnight. The lease term is five years with government termination rights, and a full-service lease covering all utilities and janitorial services is strongly preferred. All proposals must use the official U.S. Government Lease form, and compliance with attached requirements—including Minimum and Specific Requirements, Construction and Security Specifications, and Janitorial Services Specifications—is mandatory. Additionally, bidders must obtain a contractor’s bid for the required build-out and complete the Proposal to Lease Space form, which must be signed and submitted with all supporting documentation. All potential lessors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) prior to lease award, and registration is a strict prerequisite for any government contracting activity. Failure to complete SAM registration—including obtaining a Unique Entity Identifier and submitting a notarized letter appointing the Entity Administrator—will disqualify a proposal. Payments will be made electronically via EFT, and the GSA mandates strict adherence to SAM protocols, with delays in registration impacting award timelines. Proposals, including the signed form and required documents, must be emailed to angela.e.coimbre@usace.army.mil and melissa.c.gonzalez@usace.army.mil no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026. Selection will be based on the lowest overall cost to the government, with past performance as a secondary factor, and a government appraisal will determine the fair market rental value after proposals are reviewed. The solicitation number is DACA175260002200, and inquiries may be directed to Angela Coimbre.
