Paper Recycling & Shredding Services

Background Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) is seeking to contract with a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive paper recycling and shredding services. The primary goal of this contract is to ensure environmentally responsible disposal of paper and secure shredding of sensitive information in compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The contract duration is set for five years, and the selected vendor must demonstrate experience in providing similar services to educational institutions or organizations of comparable size. Work Details The vendor will provide the following services: 1. Paper Recycling Services: - Pickup frequency: Twice a month (every other week), with specific days coordinated with Mt. SAC facilities management. - Types of materials: Confidential paperwork and computer hard drives will be shredded and recycled. - Container requirements: Provide clearly labeled recycling bins with a minimum capacity of 64 gallons at designated collection points across the campus. - Compliance standards: Adhere to California Code of Regulations Title 14, Division 7 (Recycling Regulations) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Standards). - Reporting: Monthly reports documenting the volume of paper recycled, collection dates, and contamination issues encountered during pickups. 2. Shredding Services: - Pickup frequency for hard drive shredding: 4-6 times per year upon request. - Types of materials accepted: Hard drives will be securely shredded. - Secure methods: Utilize mobile shredding vehicles or facilities with industrial-grade shredders that meet NAID AAA Certification and P-shred certification standards. - Chain of custody must be maintained, logging all materials during the shredding process. - Certification of destruction must be provided for each shredding event. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of five years. Place of Performance Services will be performed at Mt. San Antonio College, located at 1100 N. Grand Ave., Walnut, CA 91789. Bidder Requirements Vendors must provide evidence of experience in paper recycling and shredding services for educational institutions or comparable organizations. They must possess appropriate licenses and permits to operate within California, employ trained personnel familiar with confidentiality protocols, and guarantee response times to service inquiries within 24 hours. Additionally, vendors are required to submit proof of insurance as per Mt. SAC's requirements.
