This contract, solicitation number FA8224-09-T-0089, covers the procurement of specialized PCI interface cards and supporting software for MIL-STD-1553 Mux communications. The equipment is intended for use during the software development of aircraft subsystems and includes four PCI-1553-2D interface cards with dual redundant channels and dual function capability, four sets of AltaView analyzer software, and a custom Magma PCI ExpressCard adapter to enable laptop connectivity. The total quantity is designed to equip three desktop computers and one laptop. The acquisition is designated as a sole source purchase from Alta Data Technologies to maintain consistency with existing software development environments within the 309 SMXG. This decision was based on the need to leverage existing engineer training and avoid the additional infrastructure costs and productivity losses associated with transitioning to a different interface system.
