The County of Riverside Purchasing, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Bureau, is soliciting quotations for perforated food storage bags, as described in Exhibit “A” Product Specifications on page eight of this Request for Quote (RFQ), to support the function and operation of five correctional facilities. The Sheriff’s Office is the second largest in California, covering over 7,300 square miles, and operates five adult facilities with a daily meal count totaling close to 11,500. The purpose of perforated food storage bags is to serve two of three daily meals, totaling over 3.1 million annually. Storage bags will be purchased as needed for up to five years, renewable in 12-month increments from the lowest and most responsible, responsive bidder. The Sheriff's Office may award this RFQ based on best value for fit, form, and functionality to meet the needs of the Corrections Bureau. In this instance, the lowest bidder may not be the only determining factor before the final award is granted. The department reserves the right to reject a bid based on insufficient and poor product quality. Annual usages are estimates only and do not obligate or guarantee the Sheriff’s Office to purchase a specified amount of goods. The Sheriff's Office is committed to fair and transparent procurement. Purchasing may award a contract without negotiation; therefore, bidders should submit their best pricing.
