Signal Generator WaveformsThe Certification and Engineering Bureau requires an upgrade to its SMW200A signal generator to incorporate new waveform capabilities including LoRa, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, and 802.11be, enabling the testing of modern wireless devices against emerging radio frequency technologies. This enhancement is critical to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, prevent harmful interference, promote fair market competition, and safeguard Canadian consumers by validating the safety and performance of wireless products on the market. The upgrade will significantly strengthen the bureau’s capacity for market surveillance, support in-depth engineering analyses of next-generation wireless systems, and contribute directly to the development and refinement of national regulatory standards. This solicitation, identified as ISED215494-1, was posted on June 22, 2026, with a response deadline of July 7, 2026, and is issued by the Department of Industry under the Government of Canada. The primary point of contact for inquiries is Veronique Dion, Contracting Authority, reachable at veronique.dion@ised-isde.gc.ca. The procurement is open to federal-level suppliers without specific set-aside provisions and is intended to support national obligations in wireless technology regulation and consumer protection.
