ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: Berks Career & Technology Center, Berks County, PA will receive sealed bids online via PennBid website for the Proposed Cul-de-sac Extension project until 11:00 A.M. prevailing time, on August 23, 2024, after which time, Bids will be opened with results displayed publicly on PennBid. The consideration of the apparent low Bidder will be at a special meeting of The Board of Berks Career & Technology to be held at 6:00 P.M. prevailing time on August 28, 2024. The project includes demolition of a portion of the existing cul-de-sac bulb extension of the cul-de-sac with a new bulb, grading as necessary to construct the cul-de-sac (with replacement of topsoil and stabilization), adjustment of existing utilities, and coordination of topsoil stripping with the Owner. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Surety Company's Bid Bond on the form provided in the Bid Documents, naming as payee or Obligee, Berks Career & Technology Center, Berks County in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted. The Surety Company must be acceptable to the Berks Career & Technology Center. No bid may be withdrawn after the above-specified date for receiving, opening, and reading of bids, except as specifically may be provided by law. Wages paid are subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 as amended and supplemented. The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act of 1955, P.L. 744, No. 222, as amended June 25,1997 by Act 34 of 1997, 43 P.S. §§ 951-963, shall apply to this Contract.
