The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), acting on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, intends to directly award a contract to Medtronic Canada ULC for the supply of the Symplicity Spyral Renal Denervation (RDN) System and its multi-electrode renal denervation catheter for use at Vancouver General Hospital. The estimated contract value is $288,000 CAD, excluding taxes, for an initial two-year term with an option to extend for an additional two years. The contract pricing may also be extended to other health authorities and facilities within British Columbia during the term. PHSA has opted for a direct award without a competitive process, citing that Medtronic Canada is the sole supplier of this unique Health Canada-approved technology, with no alternative products available due to technical specifications. The Symplicity Spyral RDN System is a specialized medical device designed to reduce blood pressure by delivering radiofrequency energy to disrupt overactive sympathetic nerve signaling between the kidneys and the brain. It enables denervation throughout the renal artery anatomy, including distal branches where nerve density is highest, offering a comprehensive treatment currently unmatched by any other product. Parties wishing to challenge the decision must submit a formal objection to the designated buyer by February 2, 2026. All correspondence should reference the contract file number PHSA 18560. The contract reflects the Health Authority’s strategy to acquire cutting-edge medical technology in a streamlined procurement process to address specific patient care needs.

Issued: January 22, 2026File # PHSA 18560NOI Title: Medtronic's Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) SystemProvincial Health Services AuthorityNotice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) System and Symplicity Spyral™ multi-electrode RDN catheter for Vancouver General Hospital at an estimated value of $ 288,000.00 CAD (excluding taxes) for a term of two (2) years with one (1) option for extension of two (2) years. This Notice may be extended to other facilities and Health Authorities in British Columbia at the same pricing structure to acquire the technology within the term of the agreement.Medtronic Canada ULC 99 Hereford Street, Brampton, ON L6Y0R3, Canada. In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:the goods can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists due to an absence of competition for technical reasons. The Symplicity Spyral RDN System is designed to deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy, via the Symplicity SpyralTM multi-electrode renal denervation catheter, through the wall of the renal artery to achieve renal denervation. The procedure safely disrupts the overactive sympathetic signaling between the kidneys and brain, to reduce blood pressure. This is the only system allows for denervation throughout the renal anatomy, including the distal branches, where late arriving nerves are accessible and total nerve density is highest. The only Renal Denervation product in the market is Medtronic Canada ULC’s Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) System which is Health Canada approved.Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Arman Uddin, Buyer – Cardiac Care by email to arman.uddin@phsa.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, February 02, 2026. PHSA will review all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection. Please Reference File: # PHSA 18560 on all written correspondence.Harshwardhan Naik Buyer – Cardiac careProvincial Health Services Authority1795 Willingdon Avenue,Burnaby, BC V5C 6E3 Email: Harshwardhan.naik@phsa.caWeb: www.phsa.ca
