Issued: January 22, 2026File # PHSA 18560NOI Title: Medtronic's Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) SystemProvincial Health Services AuthorityNotice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) System and Symplicity Spyral™ multi-electrode RDN catheter for Vancouver General Hospital at an estimated value of $ 288,000.00 CAD (excluding taxes) for a term of two (2) years with one (1) option for extension of two (2) years. This Notice may be extended to other facilities and Health Authorities in British Columbia at the same pricing structure to acquire the technology within the term of the agreement.Medtronic Canada ULC 99 Hereford Street, Brampton, ON L6Y0R3, Canada.In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:the goods can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists due to an absence of competition for technical reasons.The Symplicity Spyral RDN System is designed to deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy, via the Symplicity SpyralTM multi-electrode renal denervation catheter, through the wall of the renal artery to achieve renal denervation. The procedure safely disrupts the overactive sympathetic signaling between the kidneys and brain, to reduce blood pressure. This is the only system allows for denervation throughout the renal anatomy, including the distal branches, where late arriving nerves are accessible and total nerve density is highest.The only Renal Denervation product in the market is Medtronic Canada ULC’s Symplicity SpyralTM Renal Denervation (RDN) System which is Health Canada approved.Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Arman Uddin, Buyer – Cardiac Care by email to arman.uddin@phsa.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, February 02, 2026.
