Unit 197 is a 2021 Dodge Charger sedan used by the Police Department – Investigations Division for routine investigations throughout the City. The unit does not meet current operational needs for the Division. Unit 197 will be retained and reassigned to fulfill Unit 123. Unit 123 is a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan used by the Patrol Division as a CSO vehicle. The unit is used daily for routine patrol and emergency response throughout the City.
The retired Unit 123 will be sold through one of the City’s auction companies.
Unit 197 will be replaced with a 2024 Ford F250 4WD pickup truck. The unit will be used for routine investigations and special events. The new unit provides operational flexibility for towing the trailers for driver training and ammunition. Future single-use vehicle replacements, such as the dive truck, may instead be replaced with trailers to maximize operational use of the vehicle.
