Kiewit is seeking quotes from qualified SBE and VSBE firms to perform as subcontractors, material contractors, and suppliers. SBE and VSBE must provide evidence of certification by the Department of General Services (DGS) and Port of Long Beach, PlanetBids portal. Kiewit will be requesting quotes for various areas of work but not limited to, the scopes of work below: Site photography, dumpster/trash services, site security, traffic control/MOT, aggregate, geosynthetic, utility material, asbestos abatement, trucking and hauling, water trucks operated, material landfill dirt and concrete, shoring and underpinning, SWPPP, street sweeping, tunneling, boring and jacking, micro tunneling, utilities – directional drilling and cathodic protection, CCTV inspection, underground piping, ductile iron pipe, reinforced concrete pipe, plastic pipe PVC, plastic polyethylene pipe, steel casing, manhole material, asphalt paving and supply, cement concrete pavement, paving specialties, curb and gutter, fencing, traffic signs and signal, lighting and signals, landscaping contractors, ready mix supply, concrete forms, concrete reinforcing installation, concrete barrier, precast concrete, concrete drilling and saw cutting, metals, welding services, steel pipe, wood material, plastic material, exterior signage, pedestrian control devices, solid waste handling equipment, sedimentation tank equipment, cathodic protection, storage tank, bolts and gaskets, pipes and tubes, valves, fiberglass reinforced plastic pipe, testing, adjusting and balancing, electrical work, generator assemblies and telecommunication. This project is subject to Project Labor Agreement, Labor Compliant and prevailing wage rates. The project is partially funded by the following grants – FHWA through LACMTA Call for Projects (LAF7204) 2015 Congestion Management Air Quality (#F9203), LACMTA 2013 Call for Projects Regional Surface Transportation Program (#F7204), State of California Transportation Agency Port and Freight Infrastructure Program (#07-5108), and U.S. DOT MARAD 2021 Port Infrastructure Development Program (Grant #693JF722450027) requirements including, but not limited to the DBE Program requirements, and the California Labor Code. Firms interested in receiving a bid package for this project must contact us at the e-mail address noted. Responding firms will be issued an “Invitation to Bid” through Kiewit’s electronic use of BuildingConnected system (at no cost to bidder) with project information and bid instructions. Plans and specifications will also be available for review at the address listed below if requested. Responsive bidders must possess a valid California Contractor’s license (as appropriate) and provide acceptable insurance. Responsible subcontractors and material contractors may be required to provide bonding for 100% of their contract value. Kiewit will reimburse bond premiums. Firms performing any onsite work is signatory to collective bargaining agreements with the carpenters, laborers, cement masons, ironworkers, operating engineers, and teamsters. Kiewit will consider quotes from any, and all bidders who demonstrate an ability to foster and maintain labor harmony on the Project. Kiewit intends to conduct itself in good faith with all participants on this project.
