To allow these formations to remain maneuverable and lethal on the battlefield, the Army requires a stand-alone power source to generate, recharge, detach, and swap power sources to maintain operational requirements up to 72 hours (3 days), reducing the number of batteries required to support the mission. The materiel solution is envisioned to be a lightweight Soldier-portable power source, no more than 50 pounds (<50 lbs.) with an objective of less than 20 lbs. The capability must produce power output levels between 2-Kilowatts and 5-Kilowatts (2kW - 5kW) to charge batteries through high-capacity battery chargers. The capability will be the Platoon's primary power source for recharging Soldier carried batteries during missions in austere environments where power resupply is limited or non-existent. This power is essential for supporting various operations, from communications and surveillance to weapons systems, medical support, and other mission critical functions. 1. Respondents are requested to provide an overview of the available technology and how it works to provide power generation capabilities. 2. Respondents must identify the technology readiness level (TRL) of the technology and explain the reasoning behind their assessment.
