POLYETHYLENE BRINE TANKS - CHARLESTON

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the procurement and delivery of two 5,500-gallon CAPTOR containment system tanks for brine or calcium chloride to be delivered to North Charleston, South Carolina. The tanks must be constructed from high-density polyethylene using a 1.5 sg design with rotationally molded one-piece seamless construction. Technical requirements include a primary tank designed per ASTM D 1998-21 and a secondary containment tank with a minimum capacity of 115 percent of the primary tank in compliance with 40 CFR-264.193. Each unit must feature an 18-inch threaded manway with a vented center cap, a 2-inch PVC bulkhead fitting, and an 18-inch polyethylene mushroom vent with a bug screen. The contract is estimated to run from September 15, 2026, to February 14, 2027, with a delivery deadline of sixteen weeks after the receipt of the purchase order. Award will be granted to a single offeror based on the lowest responsible and responsive bid. Bidders must provide comprehensive qualifications, including financial statements for the last two fiscal years, narratives of three recent comparable contracts, and a history of similar work performed for South Carolina public bodies over the last three years. The supplier is also required to ensure their engineer can be on-site within 24 hours to address installation problems. Delivery is FOB Destination, and the contractor is responsible for all protective packaging, such as shrink-wrap, to ensure the tanks arrive in new condition.
