Polypropylene Bale Bags

Background The City of Pierre, South Dakota, is seeking bids for the supply of Polypropylene Bale Bags for use at the City Landfill. The contract aims to ensure the availability of high-quality bags compatible with the EnviroBale system, which is essential for managing municipal solid waste efficiently. The City aims to enhance its waste management capabilities through this procurement. Work Details The contractor will provide one semi-load (approximately 14,000 to 18,000 bags) of polypropylene bale bags. The bags must be compatible with the City's EnviroBale system and meet specific technical specifications including: 1. Bags must be palletized with 400-500 bags per pallet. 2. Inside bag dimensions: 33"H x 44.25"W x 109.5"L. 3. Bags shall be D Gusset Bag, tube/U-panel style with no side seams and a minimum of two rows of stitches with at least four stitches per inch. 4. Designed to contain baled municipal solid waste from a Sierra/REB2 250HP Baler with a finished bale weight up to 3,000 pounds. 5. Must withstand loading/unloading processes using a walking floor trailer. 6. Structural requirements include raw materials made from original polypropylene resin without recycled materials, tensile strength testing, seam strength testing, static puncture testing, and permeability specifications. 7. Pre-approval of bag samples is required prior to bid opening, and acceptance testing will be conducted on delivered bags. Period of Performance The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to conclude upon successful delivery and acceptance of the specified bags by October 9, 2025. Place of Performance The delivery location for the Polypropylene Bale Bags is the Pierre Solid Waste Facility located at 2800 E Park Street, Pierre, SD 57501. Bidder Requirements Bidders must submit their proposals on the official bid proposal prepared by the City of Pierre and include a certified check or bid bond as specified (5% or 10% of total bid amount). Additionally, bidders are required to submit a minimum lot of 10 bags for pre-approval testing five days prior to bid opening.
