The Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, is conducting market research to identify capable vendors for a portable firearms simulation system. This system is intended to support the High Threat Protective Division in training personnel for hostile and austere environments. The required system must provide simulated versions of the M4 Carbine, Glock 19, M249, M240, and M870 Shotgun. Key technical requirements include the use of compressed air for recoil rather than CO2, purpose-built weapons that cannot load live ammunition, and non-tethered capabilities for the M4 and Glock 19 to ensure realistic training. The simulation system must feature a projector capable of displaying images on screens or walls and allow instructors to program custom ammunition loads, malfunction drills, and specialized courses of fire. Instructors must be able to monitor a student's real-time weapon status and point of aim without external lasers. Interested vendors are requested to submit a capability statement of five pages or less, including company size, CAGE code, and a synopsis of related experience, to demonstrate their ability to meet these specific operational and technical standards.

M249, M240 and 870 Shotgun may be tethered weapon systems. - Provide recoil effect of weapon systems through compressed air only. (i.e. Locking the "slide" or "bolt" to the rear, inserting magazine and sending the "slide" or "bolt" to the carry configuration.) The Government will not reimburse any vendor for any information that is submitted in response to this Sources Sought request. Any information is strictly voluntary.
