Preliminary Geotechnical Study at Nokomis Avenue Bridge Over San Anselmo Creek

Preliminary geotechnical study to gather information for developing plans to repair scour damage at Pier 2 and Pier 3. No in-water work or tree removal will occur. The purpose of the repairs is to prevent further damage to the historical bridge from scour and high-flow events, and to maintain the bridge as a safe crossing for residents to access their homes. The project consists of geotechnical borings and subsurface investigations to collect soil and groundwater data for engineering analysis. The activity involves information collection and resource evaluation and will not result in significant disturbance to environmental resources. Further, the activity involves temporary, minor ground disturbance, followed by backfilling and restoration, with no removal of healthy, mature, or scenic trees.
