Full Description

THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to KBA Nota Sys Inc. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has an urgent need for spare parts to repair the existing Simultan 903 & Currency Overprinting and Packaging Equipment (COPE) presses. All components in this assembly are in need of replacement and hand fitting to original tolerances; currently, four of the presses that have been in production for over 10-years are in danger of delivery system failure. Internal repair is no longer a feasible solution as their repair ability has been exhausted. The Offset and COPE/Pak Divisions are two production areas in the Office of Currency Manufacturing responsible for the production of US Currency. These sections maintain high speed multi-functional printing presses that include simultaneous printing, color printing, cutting and packaging areas. The BEP is requesting new spare parts for these presses. At the completion of the project all delivery systems, on aforementioned presses, will operate above prior function. All parts should operate without failure for repetitive sheets during active run time. Please see Attachment -1 for a full list of all required KBA parts. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their capability. Responses to this notice shall be received by 27 July 2015 at 9:00am EST. All responses must be in writing only via email to the point of contacts specified in this notice. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government.
