Caltrans District 12 is executing a preventative maintenance project on State Route 22 and State Route 55 in the City of Orange, Orange County. The scope of work involves the cold planing and removal of 0.10 to 0.15 feet of existing pavement, which will be replaced with new Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt to address structural deficiencies and extend the service life of the roadway. The project limits span from the Tustin Street Undercrossing to the SR-22/55 Separation, and from the SR-22/55 Separation to the East La Veta Avenue Undercrossing on SR-55. All activities will be conducted within the State right of way, and no new right of way acquisitions are required. The project is state-funded and is classified as a forecast under NAICS code 237310. Due to the nature of the work as routine maintenance with an anticipated disturbed soil area of less than 1.0 acre, the project is exempt under CEQA 15300 Class 1(c).
