The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to award a sole source contract to Hitachi Technologies America for preventive, maintenance and emergency repair services of the Hitachi S-3400N-II VP-SEM to include SEM accessories ESED Environmental Secondary Electron Detector and CHS05 Chamber scope. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, sources interested in responding to this requirement must be able to provide compelling evidence that they can obtain/provide preventive maintenance contract utilizing factory trained and factory authorized parts and service that will not invalidate equipment warranties for the listed equipment. The North American Industry Classification System code is 811219 and the business size standard is 19.0M. Any firm that believes it can supply these services may submit a written notification to the Contract Specialist via email at rsmith@cpsc.gov by March 27, 2012, 1:00 p.m. eastern time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to the above listed email address. NO TELEPHONE REQUEST will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, CPSC will proceed with negotiating a sole source award to Hitachi Technologies America.
