The Naval Hospital Bremerton Contracting Office intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed contract to Ethicon's Advanced Sterilization Products Division for an annual service agreement covering preventive maintenance and equipment repair for specific sterilizers. The contract period is from July 20, 2017, through July 19, 2018, with an option to extend through July 19, 2019. The equipment covered includes three STERRAD sterilizers, essential to maintaining the operational status of the Biomedical Engineering Section at the hospital. The decision to sole-source is based on the belief that alternative providers would be unable to maintain the sterilizers in functional condition, making full and open competition impractical. Although this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may express their interest and capability to meet the contract requirements by July 17, 2017. Any responses will be used solely to determine whether a competitive procurement is necessary. Prospective contractors must be registered in SAM and provide clear documentation demonstrating their relevant experience and capacity to support the hospital’s needs. Communications and submissions are to be made via email to the designated contracting officer. The overall objective is to ensure continuous, dependable service for critical sterilization equipment vital to the hospital's biomedical operations.
