Please ensure responses to this Sources Sought Notice demonstrate the following:
1. The vendor's ability to build the Clam Shell Door.
2. What (if any) portion of the work is expected to be subcontracted.
3. The vendor must have a current certification for SAE AS9100D (or subsequent revisions) – Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defense Organizations
4. The vendor must possess at least one of the following FAA qualifications: FAA-certified Repair Station designation under 14 CFR Part 145, or in-house FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) authorized under Parts 23, 25, CAR 3, and CAR 4b

The Government intends to solicit as a 100% small business set-aside.
The proposed contract action is for the purchase of build-to-order Clamshell Door Assembly. The clamshell door is installed on the U-1C Foils, which are installed on the government aircraft system. The front of the foil features a clamshell door that must open and close reliably in a harsh flight environment where windspeeds can exceed 500 mph, exposing filter papers to the incoming airstream.
Detailed technical data and drawings are available from the government upon request.

Any interested source are invited to submit a written qualification package for review and approval for the purchase of these items.
If there are any questions regarding this notice shall be submitted by 3 p.m. CDT on 11 May 2026.
Respones to all questions will be provided to all interested vendors by noon CDT 15 May 2026.
The written qualification package must include the following information:
1) Contractor name, POC, phone number, NAICS, and Cage Code
2) A brief statement detailing capabilities and whether they can meet the Governments’ quantity amount with estimated cost per unit and total. The written statement should be limited to two (2) pages.
3) Type of business, and whether they are large, small, any socio-economic classification, and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned.
