Full Description

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) contemplates award of a sole source FFP Order to Sandhill Scientific for the purchae of one Liver Ultrasound Elastrograph, Fibro Scan 502 and Fibro Scan Prob M+ and XL+. This equipment is to be used in a National Health and Nutrition Evaluation Survey(NHANES) Medical Examination Center (MEC) located within the United States. The delivery date is anticipated four weeks after issuance of an order. The North American Industry Classification Systems Code is 423450 and Standard Business Size of 500. Sandhill Scientific is a small business. The Sole Source award will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The liver ultrasound elastrograph must be FDA approved, non invasive, vibration controlled transient elastography ultra sound machine, operable by a trained health technician as currently are employed on the NHANES Survey as opposed to requiring an ultra-sonographer and/or radiologist; and is endorsed by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD). Only one vendor and one product exists that meets the above requirements. The Echosens FibroScan 520 is available in the U.S. exclusively through Sandhill Scientific. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation is available; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis by sending to jvw0@cdc.gov. The CDC has determined that Sandhill Scientific is the only source capable of providing this requirement. Phone calls will not be accepted.
