Project McKinley

Project McKinley involves the development of a 40,290 square foot warehouse facility in Humboldt County, California, to be operated by Amazon as a last-mile delivery hub. The project proposes merging six parcels into two to accommodate the facility, which will feature concrete tilt-wall construction, stand 32 feet tall, and include ten dock doors and two grade-level doors. The warehouse will store consumer goods for local package delivery and operate 24 hours a day with no public access. It is designed to support approximately 115 regular employees, increasing to 172 during peak periods, with the majority of employee vehicle traffic concentrated between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Line-haul truck movements are scheduled primarily overnight, between 9:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to minimize daytime congestion. The site will include a dedicated parking area for delivery vehicles, including line-haul trucks, fleet vans, and private passenger vehicles. The project requires a Coastal Development Permit and is subject to local regulatory review under the jurisdiction of Humboldt County.
