PROPOSED BRIDGE SUPERSTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT WEST COMMERCE STREET OVER PEAK CREEK

The Town of Pulaski, Virginia, is soliciting bids for the superstructure replacement of the West Commerce Street Bridge over Peak Creek. The project scope includes the demolition of the existing superstructure, substructure repair, reconstruction using prestressed Concrete Bulb-T beams, approach work, and the replacement of 8-inch, 12-inch, and 16-inch diameter water lines. All work must be performed in accordance with the 2020 VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications and engineering drawings provided by Schwartz and Associates, Inc. The contract is a unit-price agreement with a fixed completion date of August 18, 2028. To be considered responsive, bidders must be VDOT-approved and pre-qualified as bridge contractors, providing a VDOT Certificate of Qualifications with their submission. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Key requirements include the provision of 100% performance and labor and materials payment bonds, adherence to the Davis-Bacon Act for prevailing wages, and compliance with Buy America and Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) domestic sourcing requirements.
