PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ADA Compliant Elevator Replacements-RFP-27-034

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is seeking qualified firms for the full replacement of ADA-compliant passenger elevators in Bloxham Hall (Building 3) and the Coleman Center (Building 13) on the FSDB campus. This competitive solicitation, RFP-27-034, requires all work to adhere to the National Elevator Safety Code for Elevators (ANSI A17.1), the National Electric Code, and Florida's adopted ADA standards. The contract has a total value not to exceed 170,000.00 dollars and a performance period effective from October 20, 2026, through April 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal for up to three additional years. Proposals are due by September 29, 2026, at 1:45 PM. Interested firms must be properly licensed in the State of Florida and provide a good faith deposit of 5 percent of the bid via a bid bond or certified check. Evaluation will be based on current and past projects from the last five years, the experience and ability of the proposed team, and the proposed scheduling methodology. Awarding will be determined by the President or a designee based on the most advantageous proposal to the state. Submission requirements include a mandatory title page, specific vendor registration and insurance documentation, and strict packaging and labeling instructions to avoid rejection. Final acceptance requires the contractor to provide general arrangement drawings and wiring diagrams, and all installed material and labor must be warranted for one year.
